This looks really cool but I don't speak Spanish so sadly can't learn about it! I really wish they had an English language version of this page. It seems like a camera that can shoot a bunch of different codecs and take just about any lens you could come up with. I'd love to learn more. Someone want to forward me a translation if it's available?

ARRI

ARRI

Still very much in the game.

These cameras look awesome. Arri seem to be very committed to 2K as a capture format because apparently they see, "4K as the realm of digital scanning (35mm color negative) for some time to come." Interesting. That makes sense when a healthy portion of your business is tied up in the manufacture of digital scanning equipment. Also, another Arri product that looks very cool, the upcoming "Digital Mag" for the SR3, is another 2K capture device. With 1080p still being the highest quality consumer delivery format, other than a 35mm release print or 4k projection, it makes sense to put eggs in that basket. For now.. Until EPIC 1,000,000K comes out ;) Seriously though. I'm willing to bet a few years ago when the RED rumblings really started that Arri, Panavision, and some of the other larger vendors had no idea how much it would shake things up. RED, lens adapters, and now HDSLR's - look back just 4 or 5 years ago and I think it's a completely different playing field we're in now.

Just saw this and love it.

Very clean and info-laden camera comparison chart from the good folks at Fletcher Camera in Chicago. In this updated version for 2009, they've included the actual size of the sensor which is a great point of reference while comparing and researching cameras.
