Hands on with the Panasonic AG-3DA1 and AG-AF100

Hands on with the Panasonic AG-3DA1 and AG-AF100

This vid piped in over Reader so I'm not sure who to credit. It's good to see the AF100 actually in someone's hands though to get a real sense of scale. It's a nice size but it's definitely going to require some additional hardware to get into a comfortable hand held operation mode. I'm sure the industry that's sprung up around building out DSLR's already has their sights trained on this guy. I'm done buying cameras for awhile but this is one that we'll no doubt be seeing lots of.

Active Diffusion ?

Active Diffusion?

Sorry to be a re-posting maniac today but this is just awesome...

If you read this site, you probably follow The C47 as well so you've already seen this but thanks to Jem for sharing and allowing the vid to be embedded. I can't believe no one else who was doing video coverage at the show featured the Active Diffusion. Why is this a film/video lighting product? The household and business applications seem tremendous. I'd love to have this stuff on every window in my apartment! $400 for the 2x2 piece is very affordable. I wonder how durable this stuff is though.. I heard you can't put a hot head behind it, cool sources like LED's and Fluorescents only at this time.

SmallHD - DP-SLR 5.6" SDI/HDMI Monitor

Small HD DP-SLR 5.6" HD-SDI/HDMI Monitor

A reader clued me in to this upcoming device from SmallHD and now CameraDepartment.tv has just posted a nice vid on it that's worth sharing. It looks like a pretty versatile little product indeed that could be used comfortably on just about any kind of camera.

I've used the SmallHD 9" Monitor which I felt was quite a nice display though a little large to be used as an on-board. The specs on the upcoming DP-SLR are pretty remarkable but there's at least a 75 day window between the time you pre-order and when the product is actually delivered. That's kind of a bummer but I guess a tiny SDI display is worth the wait. I'd like to see one on a shoot first before dropping the $1200 + for the kit though.
